SUMMARY:

  • Develop lesson plans and instructional materials necessary to provide individualized and small group academic and social-emotional instruction appropriate for the needs of students.
  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior to achieve an effective learning environment.
  • Identify student needs and make appropriate referrals, develop strategies for individual education plans, work with the assistance of district specialists as appropriate.
  • Provide individualized and small group instruction; adapt the curriculum to the needs of students.
  • Facilitate school-based RTI team meetings and other meetings requested by principal. Meet with administration and school counselor on a regular basis.
  • Organize and maintain school RTI paperwork.
  • Support and collaborate with classroom teachers on student data and related RTI paperwork.
  • Assess and evaluate the accomplishments of students’ academic and social growth and keep appropriate records; provide progress reports as requested.
  • Provide training to staff on assessments, interventions, reviewing data or other appropriate content related to the position.
  • Communicate with parents, colleagues and administration. 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Valid Maine teaching certificate required  

START DATE: August 2019

SALARY:        Based on teacher position experience. Contract currently in negotiations.
