I am so super proud of each and every one of you for your efforts at Special Olympics yesterday! All of you worked hard, stayed at your assignments, cheered on the athletes, helped set up and clean up, and when you needed a break, you waited for a replacement and kept to your assignments. The Special Olympics employees commented on all this as well and mentioned they didn't notice any roaming or other students crowding up the track. Each of you took your job seriously, which made the event run smoothly. Apparently this is only the second time, since this event has been run at Hall-Dale, that the meet ran on time and all athletes were able to participate in all the events they signed up for.
When you are part of big events, like Special Olympics, it is so important that everyone stick to their commitments/assignments, be able to make changes and decisions quickly, be willing to help out, do what your asked to do with a smile, and be able to understand the importance of the day. Each of you did all this, which in turn, made my job easier. You made decisions, provided solutions, and best of all I saw so many of you step up as leaders. You represented Hall-Dale and JMG well!
I really couldn't be more proud of you (yes, I'm tearing up right now). Please join me during your lunch (and/or advisory after you check in with your Advisor) for a celebration in the JMG room.
We will look at pictures during class but attached is one of the two segments aired on WABI TV last night and this morning.
