This is a great week to give thanks to our exceptional students and thank those that support our students.

On Tuesday morning we held our final Positive Recognition Ceremony for the year.  The nominees for Student of the Month for the year were all recognized.  Thank you to all the students that work to make our school a positive place.

We had a very special presentation by our students for our beloved Doreen Moody who is soon retiring.  Doreen is an exceptional person and has supported our students at an exceptional level for many years.  I know that I speak for many that Doreen's presence on the bus and at school will be sorely missed.  Thank you to Doreen for her care, affection, and kindness for Richmond students for many years.

The Jobs for Maine Graduate students presented a donation to the Richmond Area Food Pantry as part of JMG's JOY Grant Program.  Janette Sweem was presented with a check for $300.  Thank you both to the JMG students and to the Richmond Area Food Pantry for all that they do to give back to the community.

Virgil Bozeman, music teacher at RMSHS, was presented with a surprise Teacher of the Year award from the Maine Music Educators Association, District 3.  Mr. Bozeman is a tremendous asset to our school and community.  The choral program is an wonderful example of his dedication to our students and the arts.  Thank you Mr. Bozeman for all that you do.

Tuesday was rounded out with a closing ceremony for the Richmond High School Key Club.  The members of Key Club have found so many ways to give back to the school and community this year.  This club is one with many active members and ever increasing participation.  Thank you to faculty advisor Ms. Antonson; current and future Key Club officers Destiny, Emma, Syd, Caitlin, Ashley, and Kristy; and for all the members of the Key Club.  You make our school and community better everyday.

More to come on our amazing seniors and graduation.
