Regional School Consolidation Impacts All Residents

For the better part of year and a quarter since the state legislative enacted sweeping changes impacting Maine school administration, school funding and local school governance myself, Selectmen; Doug Ludewig, resident Jim Grandahl, the entire Monmouth School Committee along with our dedicated school administrators have logged hundreds of essential volunteer hours proactively participating in and attending meetings concerning a collaborative Regional School Consolidation process.
Our participation has been rewarding as well as frustrating at times; all along we have kept the principal focus on our community’s main goals of ensuring the best fiscally responsible education possible to prepare our children for the future, preserving our established community schools, retaining local identity and establishing an equitable community standing within the present collaborative school consolidation planning process and for any possible future Regional School Unit or RSU.
