RSU Vision Statement

RSU #2 VISION STATEMENT

The Vision of RSU #2 is to be a system of Student Centered Learning:

*  Embraces student voice and choice through varied learning opportunities that take place
inside as well as outside the schools and year-round, e.g. project-based learning,
internships, experiential learning, career technical education, peer learning, technology
and apprenticeships.

*  Shows students learn in a variety of environments, from a variety of sources, and at
different paces based on individual learning needs.

*  Presents opportunities for students to analyze and think critically, write and speak
effectively, and collaboratively solve complex problems today and in the future.

*  Includes the community and it resources as an important part of the learning process.

*  Integrates a rigorous, focused curriculum with instruction and standards-linked
assessments.

*  Enables students to clearly understand what they should know and be able to do as a
result of their learning.

*  Incorporates demonstrations as well as traditional tests to measure when a student has
mastered the skills and content, thus providing an accurate gauge of how well student are
learning and when advancement to the next stage is appropriate.

*  Develops in the learner a sense of self-worth, cultural awareness, and ethical and social
responsibility.

*  Ensures that students are able to set goals, manage time and demonstrate an effective
work ethic.

Faculty laptop re-imaging

RSU2 will be reimaging 7-12 faculty laptops during the first week of August 2010:

  • August 2 : Monmouth
  • August 3 : Richmond
  • August 4 & 5 : Halldale
  • August 6: RSU Central Office (for any faculty member)

This video describes the process of backing up your files (home folder) to external media to streamline the process.

note:

  • K-6 faculty as well as other staff will also have their laptops re-imaged on a separate schedule. While the backup process is identical, we will update these faculty members later this month with the schedule for receiving their software update.
  • In Monmouth, Danielle may also be able to provide faculty members with a server share for use in backing up your data rather than using thumb-drive…please contact Danielle for further information
  • The RSU may be able to provide a limited number of 8gb thumb-drives for use in backing up your data. Please contact the IT department if you need assistance.
