RSU2 2010-2011 NCLB Report Card Summary
This information is based on the 2009-2010 NECAP and Maine High School Assessment scores.
Highlights:
> More RSU2 students in grades 3, 5, and 6 scored at the proficiency level in reading than the state average for students in those grades.
> More RSU2 students in grades 5 and 6 scored at the proficiency level in mathematics than the state average for students in those grade levels.
> More RSU 2 students identified with a learning disability scored at the proficiency level in mathematics than the state average for that subgroup of students.
> Only one teacher in RSU2 has a conditional certificate. All other teachers meet the criteria of “highly qualified.”
Challenges:
> Fewer boys in RSU2 score proficient in reading than girls beyond grade 3.
> Only 46% of RSU2 high school students scored at the proficiency level in reading. The federal target is for 71% of high school students to be proficient.
> Only 37% of RSU2 high school students scored at the proficiency level in math. The federal target is for 54% of high school students to be proficient.
> Our economically disadvantaged students in all grades scored lower than our total population of students.
