Kennebec Intra-District Schools (KIDS) - Regional School Unit 2 seeks an enthusiastic, collaborative, and qualified individual to serve as its Finance Director.  The Director works closely with the Superintendent and Board of Directors to develop and monitor the district’s operating budget, and directs the business office which provides budgeting, accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and human resource functions for the school district.  The Director is a member of a district leadership team that works collaboratively to promote continuous improvement across the district.

Preferred Qualifications:  The preferred candidate will have:

  • ●A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or comparable, with preference given for an advanced degree and/or proven experience with emphasis in school finance and business administration field;
  • ●Experience in financial management, payroll, human resources, negotiations, and operations; preferably as a school finance officer
  • ●Knowledge and understanding of federal and state regulations and accounting principles;
  • ●Experience developing and monitoring budgets for local, federal, and state funds;
  • ●Preferred knowledge of financial management software (ADS, Infinite Vision);
  • ●Excellent technology skills;
  • ●Effective written and verbal communication skills;
  • ●Ability to balance multiple priorities;
  • ●Demonstrated leadership skills as evidenced by a record of progressively responsible professional achievement;
  • ●Ability to work as a collaborative member of a team;
