A Note from the Nurse's Office

JUNE 7, 2019

Over the last 24 hours we have noticed that some students at school may a contagious rash. It is possibly a bacterial infection of the skin and it seems to usually affect skin around the nose, lips, and chin.  The infection appears to start off as small blisters and grows, only to burst and leave patches of red skin that may seep fluid, and sores get crusty. The skin turns itchy and painful, and this can cause extreme discomfort.

For children with these symptoms, please seek medical attention immediately and, for the safety of the other students, refrain from coming to school until 24 hours after treatment.  Upon return, please include a note from the doctor. Preventative measures include frequent disinfecting of common shared surfaces, washing clothing and bed linens in hot water, and diligent handwashing.

Thanks for your cooperation and if you have any questions, please contact us at school.
