A message from your specials teachers:
Dear families,
We are so glad to finally be able to reach out to you. There has been so much uncertainty, but please know that we care about you so much and are thinking every day about how we can best support you in the coming weeks.
We believe the “specials” can be an especially valuable part of your daily life during these challenging times. Music, movement and art can lift our spirits, refresh us, and bring us together. Best of all, there is no “wrong” way to approach these subjects at home. There is no need to follow a lesson plan. Share music together, make something creative, and explore the outdoors. These activities can be enjoyed by everyone at home, so we encourage parents and guardians to join in, too!
Starting next week, the specials team will support you by providing suggestions for activities in Art, Music, PE and Guidance. We want you to know that there will be no need to return assignments, and we will not be scoring any work.
For now, we are grateful to you for all your effort adjusting to new routines. It is a difficult time, but the HDES family is here for you! Take care of each other and know you are doing your best.
