Questions about what kind of face coverings are allowed have come up in schools.  When we asked the DOE if there was official criteria defining allowable face coverings, here is what we were referred to:

  • Face covering is defined by Executive Order 49. "Cloth Face Covering" is a protection that covers the nose and mouth; fits snugly but comfortably against the side of the face; is secured with ties or ear loops; has multiple layers of fabric; allows for breathing without restriction; and is able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to its shape.

Gators and bandanas do not meet this criteria, and therefore violate the executive order.

If you need masks, please ask your school office.  We obtained enough to provide every student with between 2 to 4 masks.
