Thursday 12/3/20 the School Board voted in support of moving forward with offering Athletic/Co-Curricular Activities during the winter months for MS and HS in complete compliance with MPA and other safety regulations.

This means that there will be no spectators allowed in the buildings for indoor activities or competitions.  RSU 2 is committed to live streaming events whenever possible.

Mask wearing is required even during physical activity.  Frequent sanitizing before, during and after the activities are also required.  Physical distancing is expected, and some modifications to each activity or competition are new, in order to ensure compliance with this safety measures deemed necessary by ME CDC to reduce the spread of COVID 19.

On Friday, the MPA announced a delay to the start of in-person team-based practices and within team competitions until January 4th,.   This means that competition activities will also likely be pushed back further into the new calendar year.

Skill-building drills or conditioning to begin as scheduled on December 7, 2020 with face coverings, physical distancing, no close contact.

KIDS RSU 2 remains committed to offering creative ways to keep our students connected to their teams, coaches and the community, even if the activities they love are not able to be implemented in the traditional sense.  For example, online team meetings and individual conditioning routines will become an important component.

Athletic Directors, Principals, and Coaches/Advisors will have more details to share with student participants and their families.
