VACATION PLANNING

As you create school vacation plans, please keep in mind that RSU 2 requires all staff and students to stay home from school in compliance with travel quarantine and testing requirements.

The restrictions related to travel can change quickly, so please be sure to check the Maine CDC website about travel BEFORE leaving AND upon RETURN.

Face covering/mask wearing is now required in any public space indoors or outdoors in Maine, and highly recommended by the CDC for private spaces if visiting with people outside your household unit.

According to a recent DOE report, the rate of new cases in schools is 76% lower than the rate of new cases developing statewide.  This is in large part due to the follow through on safety protocols, such as mask wearing, physical distancing,  students and staff staying home when sick, and following quarantine requirements.

Thank you for taking these steps to keep yourself and others as healthy as possible this season.  Making safe connection with family and friends this time of year is particularly important.  We appreciate you doing your part to help us keep schools open for in-person learning.
