Class of 2022 - Project Grad Update

Project Grad Update (as of 01/20/22)

Greetings Senior Parents!

Just wanted to give you a quick update on Project Grad as of today (01/20/22).

I have had two meetings with the President and Vice-President since our last parent meeting on 01/11/22.   I will be meeting with the two of them again along with the other Senior Senators to finalize a plan to be presented to the Senior class next week.  (Note:  Due to the semester ending this week, we decided to put the Senior class meeting off until next week.)

We have the results of the initial survey that went out to all Seniors last week and the top two choices seem to be around doing an overnight at a camp or doing something at the YMCA.

I have two staff members who are in the process of getting additional information as far as costs, availability, and insurance liability are concerned.

We had tentatively scheduled next Tuesday (01/25) as our next Project Grad parent meeting, however due to games having to be rescheduled from this week into next week, I have moved this meeting to the following Tuesday (02/01).  There is a game scheduled, but it is an away game and our fans won't be allowed into that school as part of their Covid protocols, so we should be able to have our meeting.

At the meeting on 02/01, I'd like to request that our Senior parents elect at least two to four parents who will serve as the Project Grad Leadership Team.  Once that is completed, I will share with the group the results of the Senior Class meeting in which the class will have voted on two options:  Option A being an overnight at a camp (such as Camp Mechuwana) and Option B being an overnight at the YMCA (in Augusta or Waterville).

With this information shared, our Project Grad team will have the months of February, March, April, and May to lock-in the details of our Project Grad to ensure our Seniors are given a safe, enjoyable, and memorable experience!

Thank you again for your support and participation.  I look forward to seeing whoever is available to attend the meeting on Tuesday (02/01/22) at 5:30pm in the MA Library.

Take care & stay well!
