The goal of the Monmouth Academy School Counseling Department is to assist all students in areas related to social/emotional development, academic development, and career development. Students are supported in making appropriate choices during their four years of high school in connection to the student’s social/emotional, academic, and career needs. The school counseling department is here to assist with scheduling courses connected to student’s post-secondary plans, providing course and scheduling changes, creating strategies for students who may be experiencing difficulty in a course, searching for and applying to colleges, providing college testing (ie SAT), connecting students with military representatives, apprenticeships, and potential employers.
The school counseling department is available to provide students with short-term individual counseling for academic and social/emotional needs such as bullying, anxiety, stress management.. etc. The school counseling department is also able to assist in connecting students to confidential counseling to meet the student’s long-term social/emotional needs through outside providers. The role of the Monmouth Academy School Counseling department is not limited to these functions but also includes many other pieces. Please reach out at any time if you have any questions.
