It is with great excitement that I announce that Interim Superintendent Richard Amero, Jr., has been selected to serve as our Superintendent of Schools. The RSU2 Board of Directors and the Superintendent Search Committee worked diligently and thoughtfully to identify what skills, experience, and values were important to our district. Rick rose to the top during this process. He has deep roots in our community, having served as a teacher, coach, advisor, athletic director, mentor, and principal in Monmouth. RSU2 is his home.

It was important for the search committee to select a well-respected leader who would bring our district together after several years of uncertainty. Rick is a vested leader who will help grow and unify RSU2 while making our students and staff his top priority. Because he has been in our district for many years, he shares our history. He was a teacher in Monmouth when we became a learner-centered school district and later was the principal as we transitioned to a proficiency-based system. He has been in the trenches during both the high and low points. Rick understands our schools and our unique communities. He knows where we have been and where we want to go. He is invested in the students and staff and that has been evident during his five months as our interim leader. He is genuinely engaged, is passionate yet even-tempered, has proven integrity, and is dedicated to our students and staff. We are fortunate to have his leadership as our new Superintendent.

Please join me in congratulating Rick.
