Lyme Disease prevention resources:

Ticks are very abundant this year, and many folks are asking that we consider treatment to reduce ticks on school property. Though we can legally hire a pest control contractor to treat the perimeter of our school property, some municipalities and citizens do not want us to treat for ticks.

Parents can spray their student's shoes, sox and pants with organic or EPA approved repellent (such as: DEET, picaridin, IR3535, or oil of lemon eucalyptus) before sending the student o school daily as a preventive measure.

Also check for ticks at the end of the day, or use a bath or shower to be sure any missed ticks are washed off.
