HD defeats once beaten Spruce Mountain in girls action tonight!

The Hallowell Fire Department is organizing a Fire Department fundraiser in the form of a massive bonfire of Christmas trees, on January 5 at 5:15 down at Granite City Park by the waterfront. The idea is that people get rid of their trees by paying the Fire Dept. $10 to throw their tree on the growing pile. Tree drop off is that day from 3-5:00. And then they set off a massive (hopefully) fire. They have arranged for the Taiko drummers to add to the excitement.

With the icy road conditions the entire RSU has a 2 hour delay

Halldale Schools are in session, on time this morning. It is only Monmouth that has a delay. Please drive carefully and enjoy your Friday!

Odyssey of the Mind at HDMS
Odyssey of the Mind is a creative, problem solving program. Student teams work on a long-term problem for months which involves science, engineering, drama, art, music and performance. They also practice spontaneous problems, short hands-on and verbal problems that require teamwork and creativity. This program is focused on student leadership, working as a team and creativity. It is also a lot of fun. Coaches guide students, but students are in charge of everything from building vehicles, to making costumes, to setting schedules. More information is here: http://www.meodyssey.org/
The organizational meeting will take place next Tuesday, (October 23) after school, in the library.
