BREAKING NEWS!!

It is with great pleasure and excitement  that I announce to you that our Students will eat for free until December 31, 2020. The USDA has granted the State of Maine this much needed and appreciated waiver.

We still need families to fill out the free/reduced applications as after December 31, we will be back to charging meals according to eligibility, and it also helps with Laptop insurance, Title 1 funding, etc. Paper applications will be sent home soon if not already, and you can also fill out the form on: www.myschoolapps.com

We will still have our two days of pick up for our remote students, and Parent/Guardian or Student may pick up the meals as stated in the previous memo. If you cannot pick up the meals for your students, the student, if old enough can come and pick up, or someone else can take the students. The Federal Law states we have to see each student if the parent or guardian does not pick up. With the new waiver, the students not enrolled (home-schooled, or younger siblings) can now eat for free as well.

I am urging parents to PLEASE sign up for these meals ahead of time as we would hate to run out of meals, and like that we would hate to have waste by making more than needed. If you did not signed up for meals, we will not have extra. In this uncertain time, my focus is to feed our students and I would hate to see someone go without. As we know nourishment not only grows the body, but the mind. So please order ahead.

If your Student is in group 1 (attending in person on Monday/Tuesday): You may come by the school from 6:00-6:30 PM on Tuesday evening for meals for Wednesday- Friday.

If your Student is in Group 2 (attending in person on Thursday/Friday): You may come by the school from 6:00-6:30 on Friday evenings for meals for Monday-Wednesday.

It will be a drive up service. School Nutrition Staff will ask the name on the order. My staff will place the order on a table then back away. Once the staff has backed away, you may get out of your vehicle, take the bag from the table and leave.

Pick up locations for meals will be at each school near or at the Kitchen door. If you have children in multiple schools, you CAN chose to pick up at one school as long as you order ahead! This is different from before.
