TRAVEL/HOLIDAY PLANNING

As you create your holiday plans, please keep in mind that RSU 2 requires all staff and students to stay home from school in compliance with travel quarantine and testing requirements.

The restrictions related to travel can change quickly, so please be sure to check the Maine CDC website about travel BEFORE leaving AND upon RETURN.

Gov. Mills has extended the State of Civil Emergency in Maine through Nov. 27 and returned indoor and outdoor gatherings are limited to 50.    Travel out of state or internationally require 14 day quarantine with negative COVID test result to end quarantine.  The data on NH and VT are being assessed daily by the CDC and Governor to determine whether these two states will remain as quarantine recommended rather than required like all other travel destinations.

Face covering/mask wearing is now required in any public space indoors or outdoors in Maine, and highly recommended by the CDC for private spaces if visiting with people outside your household unit.  The Governor, CDC, DOE and many other public officials are promoting the need for families to spend Thanksgiving at home only with members of your own household as added protection, and a way to help keep schools open for in-person learning as long as possible.

The month of November highlights the importance of gratitude.  Thank you for taking these steps to keep yourself and others as healthy as possible this season.  Making safe connection with family and friends this time of year is particularly important.  We appreciate you doing your part to help us keep schools open for in-person learning.
