RSU 2 is seeking a passionate and flexible Elementary Music Teacher for a .4 FTE (part-time) position. The schedule is negotiable. Responsibilities include providing general music instruction for grades K–5 and teaching beginning band to fifth-grade students, with a focus on introducing a variety of instruments. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about music education, comfortable teaching in a small-school setting, and skilled at fostering a positive, engaging learning environment for young learners.
Dresden Elementary School is a vibrant PreK-5 learning community serving approximately 73 students. Our small size allows us to provide individualized attention and create a close-knit environment where every child and teacher is known and valued.
Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree
● Must hold (or be eligible to hold) the required certification/endorsement - Maine K-12 Music Teacher Certification (614)
● Must hold current Criminal History Record Check (CHRC) certification
Start Date: August, 2025
Salary: Based on teacher position experience and in accordance with the wage scale in the 2024-25 Teachers Collective Bargaining Agreement: 40% of full-time salary: $17,038.92 (BA/step 1) - $31,252.28 (MA+15/step 22) (Step 1).The complete contract year is 182 days (Note: 2025-28 CBA is currently being negotiated.)
