RSU 2 has been awarded the prestigious Small and Rural SFA Lunch Trailblazer Recognition Award by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Food and Nutrition Service in collaboration with Action for Healthy Kids.
This national recognition honors our food service team's outstanding commitment to improving the nutritional quality of school meals. Specifically, our district was recognized for successfully meeting weekly sodium guidelines and implementing meaningful student engagement strategies. The award also acknowledges our team's dedication to incorporating fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains into daily menus, as well as their innovative partnerships with local farms to provide healthier, locally sourced ingredients.
