SUMMARY: ANTICIPATED OPENING: We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Band and Chorus Teacher to lead our vibrant and well-established music program, serving over 90 students in both ensembles. The ideal candidate will foster a love of music, promote individual and group musical growth, and contribute positively to our school culture.

QUALITIES:

·      Has a solid understanding of music theory, including concepts like notes, scales, chords, and rhythm. 

·      Should be able to play instruments and sing proficiently, demonstrating their musical abilities to inspire students. 

·      Creates a supportive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable taking risks and exploring their musical abilities. 

·      Able to explain complex musical concepts in a clear, engaging, and age-appropriate manner.

  HaHas patience with students who are struggling and understands individual learning styles. 

·      Able to design engaging and effective music lessons that align with curriculum standards and student learning objectives.

ble Able to assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to guide their learning. 

QUALIFIACTIONS:

·         Bachelor’s degree

·         Valid Maine teaching certificate/endorsement  in area of study required.

START DATE: August 2025

SALARY:  Based on teacher position experience and in accordance with the 2024-2025 wage scale in the teacher bargaining agreement: $42,597.33 [BA, step 1] - $78,130.69 [MA+15, step 23]. The complete contract year is 182 days. (Note: 2025-28 CBA is currently being negotiated)
